The 3rd International Conference on Heterostructured Materials (iHSM3) will be held on July 20–23, 2026, at Hanwha Resorts Haeundae, Busan, Republic of Korea.Heterostructured materials (HSMs) consist of heterogeneous zones with large contrasts in mechanical or physical properties. The strong coupling among these zones leads to remarkable synergistic effects beyond the rule of mixtures, enabling unprecedented mechanical and functional performances. Representative examples include gradient structures, dual-phase materials, harmonic (core–shell) structures, and heterostructured composites.

Following the success of iHSM1 (Hong Kong, 2022) and iHSM2 (Chongqing, 2024), iHSM3 will continue to provide a global platform for sharing the latest progress and fostering collaborations in the field of heterostructured materials. The conference will feature plenary, keynote, invited, and contributed presentations covering both fundamental science and emerging applications.
